1. Carolina Panthers: Cam Netwon, QB (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Cam Newton, QB
There is no change here. Say what you want about Cam over the last two years, the Panthers needed a quarterback and he led them to a Superbowl, won and NFC Championship, won an MVP and is the teams leader in every passing category. Carolina gets there guy here.
2. Denver Broncos: Von Miller, LB (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Von Miller, LB
Superbowl 50 MVP, 3 time first-team All-Pro, 8 time pro-bowler and over 100 career sacks. Miller goes no further and honestly if it wasn’t for Carolinas need of quarterback this future First Ballot Hall of Famer would go #1. Denver killed it with this pick.
3. Buffalo Bills: JJ Watt, DE (Picked No. 11)
Original Pick: Marcell Dareus, DT
Another future First Ballot Hall of Famer and someone who could easily also go #1 in this draft. You hear JJ Watts name you picture the bloody nose, I mean the guy is an animal. Watt is a 5 time all-pro and has been an absolute menice ever since he entered the league it amazing he went #16 and not higher, but hey, hindsight is 2020.
4. Cincinnati Bengals: Julio Jones, WR (Picked No. 6)
Original Pick: AJ Green, WR
Six straight years recieving 1300+ yards and seven of his nine seasons he’s esclipsed over 1,000 yards. Jones is one of the best to ever do it and another Hall of Famer on this list. The Bengals drafted a beast in Green originally but nothing matches the speed, physicality, and catching ability that has graced the NFL the last decade of Julio Jones.
5. Arizona Cardinals: Patrick Peterson, CB (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Patick Peterson, CB
Cardinals made the right call here in 2011 and yes you guessed it, another hall of famer. Peterson has been the most dominate in his position since he entered the league making the pro bowl every year but 2019 and earning 3 first team all-pro’s along the way. Cardinals are still very happy having him there to this day.
6. Atlanta Falcons: AJ Green, WR (Picked No. 4)
Original Pick: Julio Jones, WR
Six of his nine seasons AJ Green has eclipsed over 1,000 yards and earned seven pro-bowls along the way. Falcons would still need a reciever and they take the next best one. Green has been one of the best in his positions when he is able to stay healthy, despite an injury plagued 2019 do not let let it fool you, Green has one more 1,000 yard season to put under his belt before he’s done.
7. San Francisco 49ers: Richard Sherman, CB (Picked No. 154)
Original Pick: Aldon Smith, LB
Plain and simple Smith never panned out. Another first ballot Hall of Famer some of you may want to scream at me that Sherman is outside of the top 5 in a redraft. This redraft also works on what the teams need! San Francisco needed help on defense in 2011, they do so by adding 5 time pro-bowler, 3 time All-Pro ELITE corner back Richard Sherman.
8. Tennessee Titans: Andy Dalton, QB (Picked No. 35)
Original Pick: Jake Locker, QB
Say what you will about the Red Rocket, he was the only good quarterback in this draft outside of Cam Newton and there were three taken between them. The Titans needed a quarterback and Daltons stats don’t blow your mind but he’s earned a respectable 3 pro-bowls and has averaged 22 touchdowns and 3,500 passing yards a season in his career. Much more than Locker accomplished.
9. Dallas Cowboys: Tyron Smith, T (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Tyron Smith, T
Smith has anchored the left tackle spot since he has entered the league for the Cowboys and has helped guide this to be one of the if not the best offensive lines in football. Honestly I think Tyron Smith is a Hall of Famer, bringing the total to 6 in this draft right now. A 7 time pro-bowler and two time first team all-pro, Smith has only allowed 34 sacks including a 2018 season in which he gave up none. The Cowboys lucked out when they drafted this rock of a left tackle.
10. Jacksonville Jaguars: Cameron Jordan, DE (Picked No. 24)
Original Pick: Blaine Gabbert, QB
Again there were no quarterbacks in this draft. Jacksonville needed an edge rusher and who better to bring in then the fun loving, sack hungry Jordan? In five of his nine seasons in the league he averaged double digit sacks, earning 5 pro-bowls and one first team all-pro nods during his career. He has been a pillar for the Saints defense since 2011 and Jacksonville would have much prefered the career Jordan has given us then Blaine Gabbert.
11. Houston Texans: Chris Harris Jr, CB (Undrafted)
Original Pick: JJ Watt, DE
JJ is taken earlier in this draft now! Though Houston made the right call. They needed help on the defense and in this re-do the Texans decide to draft Chris Harris Jr, who was originally UNDRAFTED. Yes undrafted. The 4 time pro-bowler and one time first team all-pro has been a lock down corner and was a the leading Cornerback on the Broncos Superbowl 50 “No Fly Zone” defense that stifled the Carolina Panthers. He should never have been undrafted.
12. Minnesota Vikings: Anthony Castonzo, T (Picked No. 22)
Original Pick: Christian Ponder, QB
Again, there were no quarterbacks in this draft. The Vikings get a solid left tackle, who may not be a household name and has never received pro-bowl nor all-pro honors but still plays football at a very high level. The Vikings 2011 offense featured names like John Sullivan, Phil Loadholt, and Steve Hutchinson, adding Castonza would have given Adrian Peterson the greatest line for him to run behind he would have ever had in his career. Castonza would also be the blindside blocker of the future for the Vikings eventual quarterback Carasol that would eventually happen.
13. Detroit Lions: Cameron Heyward, DE (Picked No. 31)
Original Pick: Nick Fairley, DT
Heyward is a 3 time pro-bowler and two time first team all-pro. He has been dominating offensive lines and has been a pillar on the Steelers defense. In 2019 he accumulated 8 sacks and 51 solo tackles from the defensive tackle position. The Lions would have loved to have this swiss army knife defensive lineman on their team today.
14. St. Louis Rams (Now LA Rams): Ryan Kerrigan, LB (Picked No. 16)
Original Pick: Robert Quinn, DE
Robert Quinn was awesome for the Rams he got 40 sacks in first four seasons in the NFL and then faded until 2019. Ryan Kerrigan on the other hand has been dominate and consistent since he came in the league averaging 10 sacks a season over his nine year career and earning four pro-bowl nods along the way.
15. Miami Dolphins: Jason Kelce, C (Picked No. 191)
Original Pick: Mike Pouncey, C
Jason Kelce is a three time pro-bowler and three time first team all-pro. He was a key part to Philadelphia’s first Superbowl win ever and a key part to the Eagles success. A dog in the interior of the offensive line there really arent many better center then Kelce in the league.
16. Washington Redskins: KJ Wright, LB (Picked No. 99)
Original Pick: Ryan Kerrigan, LB
Washington needed a linebacker and they still get a great player and one of leaders in KJ Wright. He plays next to Bobby Wagner and is often lost in the spotlight, he is a tackle machine all the same. Only one pro-bowl to his name don’t let that fool you, Wright is a true field general and an excellent middle linebacker, Redskins still get their defensive leader here.
17. New England Patriots: Nate Solder, T (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Nate Solder, T
No change here. His play have fallen since hes signed with the Giants, he was perfect for the Patriots and won two Superbowls with them guarding Tom Brady’s blind side and did so in the greatest comeback in Superbowl history in 2016. The Patriots are happy they drafted him and got everything they needed from Solder.
18. San Diego Chargers (Now LA Chargers): Mike Pouncey, C (Picked No. 15)
Original Pick: Corey Liuget, DE
The Chargers needed help on the offensive line, with Pouncey still on the board at this point they solidify the center position for years to come in the 3 time pro-bowl center. He eventually found his way to the Chargers and currently plays for them now, but wouldn’t have been better to solidify the line then instead of now.
19. New York Giants: Kyle Rudolph, TE (Picked No. 43)
Original Pick: Prince Amukamara, CB
Big Blue needed help on the offensive line Rudolph could have been the extra blocker as well as the tight end to follow Shockey for Eli Manning. He is an all around tight end and a two time pro-bowler with his ability to help block the edge and be a reliable pass catcher for any quarterback.
20. Tampa Bay: Robert Quinn, DE (Picked No. 14)
Original Pick: Adrian Clayborn, DE
It sounded like I knocked him earlier and maybe I did, but Quinn is still worthy of a first round pick at this time. He notched 40 sacks in his first four seasons and got 11.5 in Dallas in 2019. Plus he has a first team all-pro to his name. You have to wonder in the right system would he have maintained this high level consistently throughout his career.
21. Cleveland Browns: Doug Baldwin, WR (Undrafted)
Original Pick: Phillip Taylor, DT
Doug Baldwin was always underrated, from originally being undrafted to even when he made the pro-bowl twice in 2016 and 2017. He was a key to Seahawks offensive success and there two Superbowl Appearances (one win) and made some of the craziest catches we’ve seen by the wide reciever position. Any quarterback in Cleveland would have welcomed having Baldwin for them to throw to.
22. Indianapolis Colts: Justin Houston, OLB (Picked No.70)
Original Pick: Anthony Castonza, T
Castonza is taken earlier in this draft re-do and the Colts need a pass rusher. Houston is a sack master having 89.5 in his career including 22 in 2014. He has 4 pro-bowl nods and one first team all-pro to add to his name. For the Colts last year he got them 11.0 sacks at 30 years old. He would have been great rushing for the Colts from day one.
23. Philadelphia Eagles: Mark Ingram, RB (Picked No. 24)
Original Pick: Danny Waltkins, G
With Andy Reid still the head coach and Shady still in the backfield, Mark Ingram and him would have been an incredible one-two punch. Ingram is a great back and has shown he can share the backfield and operate as both a runner and receiver with the Saints and Ravens. The Eagles backfield would have welcomed the three time pro-bowler and Reid would have had a field day with the offensive schemes to design around his two running backs.
24. New Orleans Saints: Corey Liugent, DE (Picked No. 18)
Original Pick: Cameron Jordan, DE
Jordan is taken earlier in the draft and the Saints still need help on defense they go out and get the best available defensive end. While his career sacks dont pop at you (only 25 sacks) Liugent has been a solid disruptor off the edge and up the middle as a defensive tackle allowing Sean Payton to open the defensive playbook a little.
25. Seattle Seahawks: Marcell Dareus, DT (Picked No. 3)
Original Pick: James Carpenter, T
The Seahawks needed help on the defensive side of the ball especially at linebacker with none being available the Seahawks nab the two time pro-bowler and one time first team all-pro Dareus. While his play isn’t always consistent in his career, the right coach (Pete Carroll) would have maximized the potential of Dareus and given the Seahawks a monster in the defensive tackle position.
26. Kansas City Chiefs: Randall Cobb, WR (Picked No. 64)
Original Pick: John Baldwin, WR
Cobb has been a solid wide out ever since he entered the draft. While he is not a true number one wide receiver, the one time pro-bowler, has reliable hands, homerun speed and excellent route running ability. Cobb is the perfect number two wideout on any team who can easily become a quarterbacks favorite target when the wide receiver one is locked down and would have done wonders in a Chiefs uniform.
27. Baltimore Ravens: Jimmy Smith, CB (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Jimmy Smith, CB
No change here, Smith has been a perfect fit for Baltimore and everything they have been doing there since being drafted. An underrated cornerback in the league currently, Smith has helped lead the Ravens defense since the departure/retiring of Ed Reed and has been a staple of there defense since being drafted. Ravens nailed it here.
28. New Orleans Saints: DeMarco Murray, RB (Picked No. 71)
Original Pick: Mark Ingram, RB
Ingram is taken earlier here but the Saints still need a running back, and they get the next best one. Murray is no longer in the league but he was one of the best while he was playing. The three time pro-bowler and one time first team all-pro was an every down back who loved to run between the tackles and would have been perfect for the Saints ground game.
29. Chicago Bears: Torrey Smith, WR (Picked No. 58)
Original Pick: Gabe Carimi, G
Offensive line was a need but there weren’t many quality linemen at this point, the Bears also needed a wide receiver to compliment Devin Hester. Smith was a solid wide receiver, he only eclipsed 1,000 yards once in his career he was a reliable wide out who stretch the field well and that would have suited Jay Cutlers big arm.
30. New York Jets: Pernell McPhee, DE (Picked No. 165)
Original Pick: Muhammad Wilkerson, DT
McPhee is another under the radar defensive player in the league, his stats don’t pop he only averages around 3 sacks and 23 tackles a year, but he is a very consistent edge rusher. The Jets needed help on the defensive line and Wilkerson did not pan out the way the Jets were hoping.
31. Pittsburgh Steelers: Marcus Gilbert, T (Picked No. 63)
Original Pick: Cameron Hayward, DE
Gilbert goes to the Steelers here with Hayward being taken at 13 to the Lions. The Steelers needed help on the line and they actually drafted Gilbert in the second round and he has been blocking the blindside of Rothlisberger ever since. They use their first rounder on him this time around and again have no regrets about that decision.
32. Green Bay Packers: Orlando Franklin, T (Picked No. 46)
Original Pick: Derek Sherrod, T
Coming off a Superbowl win the Packers wanted to solidify there offensive line sadly Sherrod never worked out for the team. They still go line here in Orlando Franklin and get an upgrade at that position. Franklins career may not be the best but he was a solid tackle for the Broncos, in the right system, one has to wonder if he would have improved as a player.
