1. Houston Texans: Khalil Mack, DE/LB (Picked No. 5 Overall)
Original Pick: Jadeveon Clowney, DE
Khalil Mack is the top player from this draft. His 61.5 sacks in six seasons shows he’s one of the most dominant pass rushers in the league. His 20 forced fumbles are most since he’s been in the league. All-Pro at two positions and an All-Decade selection puts Mack at the top of my Re-Do.
2. St. Louis Rams: Aaron Donald, DT (Picked No. 13 Overall)
Original Pick: Greg Robinson, OT
AD is the best defensive tackle period. Greg Robinson never panned out and the Rams select Donald here at 2 instead of 13. Donald has established himself as the best defensive tackle in the league. Five time first team all pro, 2018 sack leader and NFL 2010’s All Decade Teams. Donald goes two here.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jadeveon Clowney, DE (Picked No. 1 Overall)
Original Pick: Blake Bortles, QB
Blake Bortles is now a backup. It is fair to assume if Jacksonville could become Sacksonville a couple years early. He has not been as productive as the first two players but he has been dominant. His 32 sacks have been less than the first two selected. Clowney has not lived up to his original number one selection but Jacksonville would be somewhere his production could not be questioned.
4. Buffalo Bills: Odell Beckham Jr, WR (Picked No. 12 Overall)
Original Pick: Sammy Watkins, WR
Odell Beckham Jr. goes to the Bills here. His speed and hands are some of the best we have seen. Odell was the rookie of the year in this season and has continued success with 48 touchdowns in 6 years. Although injuries plagued him the past couple of seasons; when fully healthy he is a game changer. Buffalo desperately needs someone to stretch the field.
5. Oakland Raiders: Mike Evans, WR (Picked No. 7 Overall)
Original Pick: Khalil Mack, DE/LB
Mike Evans has been one of the best offensive weapons in the past six years. With 7,260 yards he has show his production all over the field. Averaging 15.7 yards per catch in his career hard to argue Oakland wouldn’t go with Evans now that Mack is not available.
6. Atlanta Falcons: Jake Matthews, OT (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Jake Matthews, OT
If it isn’t broken then don’t fix it. Jake Matthews played 95 out of 95 possible games. Being Matt Ryan’s protector has been his job and he has done it well. With a tackle keeping your QB upright is all that you can ask for.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Davante Adams, WR (Picked No. 53 Overall)
Original Pick: Mike Evans, WR
Davante Adams originally slides to 53 in this draft. That was due to a large amount of receiving talent. Over the past six years he has differentiated himself over the course of the past six years. Aaron Rodgers top target. Tampa would have him fit right in there with Mike Evans being selected earlier.
8. Cleveland Browns: Kyle Fuller, CB (Picked No. 14 Overall)
Original Pick: Justin Gilbert, CB
Kyle Fuller has been a force to be reckoned with. The top corner back in this class. Justin Gilbert the Browns original selection was labeled a bust and is no longer in the league. Fuller has two straight pro bowls, 18 picks and 72 deflections in six years.
9. Minnesota Vikings: C. J Mosley, LB (Picked No.17 Overall)
Original Pick: Anthony Barr, LB
C.J Mosley gives Minnesota another weapon to an already intimidating defense. Mosley has been a leader on the defense and one of the more productive linebacker in a decade. With 588 total tackles, 10 interceptions, 8.5 sacks and three defensive touchdowns. The production is undeniable and the Vikings go with the best linebacker in the class.
10. Detroit Lions: Demarcus Lawrence, DE (Picked No. 34 Overall)
Original Pick: Eric Ebron, TE
Demarcus Lawrence is a total package here for them as they have a division in which you need pass rushers to get to opposing QB’s. Lawrence has been great in his career so far.
11. Tennessee Titans: Taylor Lewan, OT (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Taylor Lewan, OT
Taylor Lewan has been a franchise left tackle for the Titans here. Although Zack Martin fits here the Titans used their 2013 first rounder on a guard and do not have a need at this point for that position. They keep the pick here with Lewan to be their left tackle for years to come.
12. New York Giants: Zack Martin, G (Picked No. 16 Overall)
Original Pick: Odell Beckham Jr., WR
Zack Martin would have fit a large need for the Giants. While getting Odell Beckham Jr. was a solid pick for the G-Men, Martin provides help in both the run and passes game and keeps Eli Manning upright in some of highest sack numbers. Martin is a generational talent and Made the 2010 all decades team.
13. St. Louis Rams: Jimmy Garappolo, QB (Picked No. 62 Overall)
Original Pick: Aaron Donald, DT
Jimmy G is the first quarterback off of the board. Garappolo has been effective especially in the right system. With the Rams dealing with Sam Bradford injuries they reset here and go with a player in Jimmy who wins.
14. Chicago Bears: Lamarcus Joyner, CB (Picked No. 41 Overall)
Original Pick: Kyle Fuller, CB
Lamarcus Joyner goes here to the Bears as he comes all the way up to 14. The reason is due to need at this position and Joyner outside of Fuller whose gone in this draft, was the best all around corner remaining. With Four interceptions, five sacks and 351 total tackles.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Ryan Shazier, LB (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Ryan Shazier, LB
In 2017 Ryan Shazier suffered a back injury and is still to this day recovering. Only able to play 3.5 seasons in his career. The Steelers would still make this pick. His play was up to the standard for which he was picked. An uncontrollable variable of injury does not take away from his talent.
16. Dallas Cowboys: Trai Turner, OT (Picked No.92 Overall)
Original Pick: Zach Martin, OG
The Dallas Cowboys in 2014 are in the climax of their offensive line building which even today is one of the highest rated in the league. Without Zack Martin here for the taking the Cowboys select Trai Turner. Turner has been a top pass blocker in the league and has protected
17. Baltimore Ravens: Jarvis Landry, WR (Picked No. 63 Overall)
Original Pick: C.J. Mosley, LB
Jarvis Landry would add a spark to this Joe Flacco run Baltimore offense. Jacoby Jones and Torrey Smith were the top two options at the time. Flacco would have a field day with his large amount of catches. Landry has the record for most catches through two seasons and three seasons. This shows he can be productive. For a Ravens team dealing with a Super Bowl hangover this season, its best for them to go the Landry route.
18. New York Jets:Eric Ebron, TE (Picked No. 10 Overall)
Original Pick: Calvin Pryor, S
Eric Ebron comes in here for the Jets. Although he is not the flashiest player he is one tight end who is productive in a league where a good tight end does not come around often. The Jets have lacked a tight end in the last decade that could be a red zone threat and a great influence for their team to start scoring more points. Ebron was not in the right system in Detroit when drafted. The Jets could build around him and be a great pass blocker.
19. Miami Dolphins: Joel Bitonio, OT (Picked No. 35 Overall)
Original Pick: Ja’Wuan James, OT
Ja’Wuan James never paned out in Miami and they did have a lot of holes in their offensive line. Joel Bitonio seems to have been the only light in the past decade of the Browns offense. Obviously learning a lot from Joe Thomas in Cleveland. Bitonio goes here to help Miami and show he can be the anchor he continues to be today.
20. New Orleans Saints: Allen Robinson, WR (Picked No. 61 Overall)
Original Pick: Brandin Cooks, WR
While Brandin Cooks had a thousand yard season in New Orleans. Allen Robinson provides a red zone threat that Sean Payton and Drew Brees would love. They have made a lot of speedy receivers flourish in their offense. Allen Robinson brings size and hands to this pass happy offense after being undervalued in this draft originally.
21. Green Bay Packers: Anthony Barr, LB (Picked No. 9 Overall)
Original Pick: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S
Barr has never eclipsed more than 75 tackles in a season. However he is productive off the edge and uses his speed to mismatch opposing blockers. Barr drops here due to the draft being very talented but here the Packers get their guy. With 417 tackles in his career he provides a lot of consistency and has the ability to drop back into coverage.
22. Cleveland Browns: Derek Carr, QB (Picked No. 36 Overall)
Original Pick: Johnny Manziel, QB
Derek Carr was the second best quarterback in this class. That is saying a lot. The Browns however have made a trend at this point to selected a quarterback every two years. Carr may not be the flashiest quarterback but has done well for the weapons he has been provided with. In Cleveland they skip over the Johnny Manziel short-lived era for Carr.
23. Kansas City Chiefs: Dee Ford, DE (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Dee Ford, DE
Dee Ford has found his way to San Francisco but KC is in need of a defensive end with youth on this team at the moment. Ford was productive for the Chiefs but did not always get the opportunity to succeed. I believe this go around they select him and use him right as a pass rusher in their defense.
24. Cincinnati Bengals: Telvin Smith, LB (Picked No. 144 Overall)
Original Pick: Darqueze Dennard, CB
Telvin Smith comes into this draft at 24. Originally 144th he has one of the biggest rises in the Re-Do. Telvin was a tackling machine but retired due to his health in 2018. The Bengals could have provided those things to have a more long lasting career. Smith in his 5 years of play he had 586 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, 9 interceptions and three defensive touchdowns. Although a short career would be a problem that production is undeniable.
25. San Diego Chargers: Bradley Roby, CB (Picked No. 31 Overall)
Original Pick: Jason Verrett, CB
Bradley Robey came into the league to provide slot coverage in his early career. On the chart in Denver behind Chris Harris Jr. and Aqib Talib. This has led to his first four years not being a starter. Roby Made due with his limited snaps and remains productive today for the Texans. He has four defensive touchdowns in six years. His 274 tackles show that he can hold his own even when beaten by a receiver. Verrett never panned out. This gives Roby a full time starting opportunity.
26. Philadelphia Eagles: Anthony Hitchens, LB (Picked No. 119 Overall)
Original Pick: Marcus Smith, LB
Hitchens comes in here at 26 and the Eagles who have needed a middle linebacker due to the departure of Demeco Ryans. In Six seasons Hitchens has accumulated 517 total tackles. The Eagles would love to put him in the middle of the defense to stop opposing offenses in the NFC East.
27. Arizona Cardinals: Devonta Freeman, RB (Picked No. 103 Overall)
Original Pick: Deone Bucannon, S
The Cardinals in this Draft go with the best running back available. Freeman has had injury concerns but that is not a factor here. When he is on he is a spark for an offense. In both the receiving and the run game. Freeman will add to a Cardinals team that had Reshard Mendenhall retire early after a successful season for Arizona.
28. Carolina Panthers: Brandin Cooks, WR (Picked No. 20 Overall)
Original Pick: Kelvin Benjamin, WR
Kelvin Benjamin was drafted here because they thought pairing him with Cam Newton as a red-zone threat. Brandin Cooks give this panthers offense the ability to stretch the field. Cooks has been traded to 4 teams now. Do not let this fool you. Cooks is a four-time thousand yard receiver. This would be a more reasonable selection than Benjamin who never worked out in the pros.
29. New England Patriots: Shaquille Barrett, LB (Undrafted)
Original Pick: Dominique Easley, DT
Dominique Easley did not find as much success in the league and was out after four years and eight total sacks. Here we give New England the leader in sacks last season. Shaquille Barrett was productive in Denver but found his stride last season. Finally getting a full start last year shows Belichick would use him to all of his strengths.
30. San Francisco 49ers: Jimmie Ward, S (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Jimmie Ward, S
Jimmy Ward has been good for the 49ers and they have a chance to get the top safety in the draft that they originally missed out on. Clinton-Dix may be looked at eerie, as he has been on three teams since 2018. I believe when in the right situation he has a higher ceiling so far than Jimmie Ward.
31. Denver Broncos: Ha-Ha Clinton Dix (Picked No. 21)
Original Pick: Bradley Roby, CB
The Denver Broncos are coming off of a season that was record setting. They seem to have all of the tools necessary to create a full team. Center Manny Ramirez was never the same compared to the O-Line around them. Weston Richburg has been one of the highest rated centers in the league. Giving Peyton Manning yet another blocker.
32. Minnesota Vikings:Teddy Bridgewater, QB (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Teddy Bridgewater, QB
As originally selected Bridgewater goes here to the Vikings. The reason this pick remains the same is due to the uncontrollable variables. Bridgewater suffered and injury early in his career and is finally getting back to his ways. Essentially Minnesota would have kept him as he was productive I his time there. It was just an unfortunate injury that keeps him from rising in this draft. I do believe he is worthy of this selection.
