1. Cleveland Browns: Patrick Mahomes, QB (Picked No. 10)
Orginal Pick: Myles Garrett, DE
Three seasons in the league and two years as the full starter. Two pro-bowls, one first team all-pro, 2018 MVP (with league leading 50 passing touchdowns) and 2019 Superbowl MVP. Need I say more?
2. Chicago Bears: Deshaun Watson, QB (Picked No. 12)
Original Pick: Mitchell Trubisky, QB
Bears go quarterback but they go the right one this time. Trubisky has struggled so far in his young career, meanwhile the two time pro-bowler Deshaun Watson hasn’t. He’s a winner, already logging in 8 comeback wins and 10 game winning drives. Watson would be a great fit for everything that Nagy wants to do in Chicago. Bears really missed out on the top two quarterbacks this draft, but don’t make the same mistake twice.
3. San Francisco 49ers: Myles Garrett, DE (Picked No. 1)
Original Pick: Solomon Thomas, DE
San Francisco goes Myles Garrett the best pass rusher in this draft. Garrett has been a beast since he’s entered the league and has averaged 10 sacks a season since entering the NFL. The one time pro-bowler is impossible to block and having him in the front seven of San Francisco makes this defense all the more intimidating then it already is.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Christian McCaffery, RB (Picked No.8)
Original Pick: Loenard Fournette, RB
Leonard Fournette has been a good running back since entering the league but Christian McCaffery has been better. The one time pro-bowler and first team all-pro, has rushed for over 1,000 yards in two of his three seasons. In 2019 McCaffery became the third player in NFL history to rush for 1,000+ yards and receive 1,000 yards, scoring 15 touchdowns on the ground and 4 in the air. He might be the best running back in football currently and the Jaguars would love to have him on their team.
5. Tennessee Titans: Chris Godwin, WR (Picked No. 84)
Original Pick: Corey Davis, WR
Davis has not lived up to the #5 overall pick pedigree, But Chris Godwin has. Since entering the league Godwin has shown he can be a monster. On 179 receptions Godwin has amassed 2,700 receiving, 17 total touchdowns averaging 15.1 yards per catch. Godwin has averaged more yards per catch than Juju Smith Schuster and Cooper Kupp. Receiving the same amount of touchdowns as Schuster and only four less than Kupp on doing so on less receptions than both.
6. New York Jets: Jamaal Adams, S (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Jamaal Adams, S
No change here. Jamaal Adams has already established himself as one of the best safety’s in the league. The two time pro-bowler and one time first team all-pro player has averaged 4 sacks and over 75 total tackles a season since entering the league. Adams sets the tone of the Gang Green defense and the Jets are very happy they drafted him.
7. Los Angeles Chargers: Cooper Kupp, WR (Picked No. 69)
Original Pick: Mike Williams, WR
Williams has been a good player but has struggled to be a consistent threat for the Chargers. Los Angeles go Cooper Kupp here. With Keenan Allen, Tyrel Williams and Hunter Henry, Kupp would be a perfect slot fit for this team. His ability to shake defenders and create space has made him a consistent threat eclipsing 1,000 receiving yards in and 10 touchdowns in 2019. The Chargers offense would be one of the hardest to defend with Kupp on the team.
8. Carolina Panthers: Alvin Kamara, RB (Picked No. 67)
Original Pick: Christian McCaffery, RB
The Panthers were in need of a running back and with McCaffery taken earlier here they go Alvin Kamara instead. A three time pro-bowl player, Kamara has established himself as one of the most elusive duel threat running backs. Averaging over 700 rushing yards, 500 receiving yards and and 9 rushing touchdowns since he came into the NFL. He would provide the Panthers with a reliable do-it-all running back.
9. Cincinnati Bengals: TJ Watt, Edge (Picked No. 30)
Original Pick: John Ross, WR
Ross was drafted because of his 4.22 speed, but that speed hasn’t translated in the NFL. Bengals were in need of another pass rusher and TJ Watt is their man. Accumulating over 12 sacks and 50 total tackles over the last two seasons the two time pro-bowler and one time first team all-pro player, Watt has shown himself to be just as much of a force as his older brother JJ. Bengals would love to have this pick back and have TJ rushing the quarterback with Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap.
10. Kansas City Chiefs: Marshon Lattimore, CB (Picked No. 11)
Original Pick: Patrick Mahomes
Mahomes is taken number in this draft but the Chiefs still have Alex Smith and go on to make the playoffs this year as well so they go Marshon Lattimore here. From day one the two time pro-bowler has been a lock down corner with 44 passed defended in his three years. Pairing him with Marcus Peters make this the best one-two cornerback combo in the league holding down the Chiefs secondary.
11. New Orleans Saints: George Kittle, TE (Picked No. 146)
Original Pick: Marshon Lattimore, CB
With Lattimore taken earlier the Saints go for George Kittle. Kittle is one of the best tight ends in the league and with Cooks traded to the Patriots the Saints needed a receiver. Bree’s and the Saints absolutely dominated when they had Jimmy Graham, adding the two time pro-bowler and one time first team all-pro player in Kittle, who’s amassed back to back 1,000 yard receiving seasons would elevate this offense that already featured Michael Thomas and Marc Ingram.
12. Houston Texans: Mitchell Trubisky, QB (Picked No. 2)
Original Pick: Deshaun Watson, QB
Watson went where he should have gone originally to the Bears but the Texans were in a “quarterback now” situation. With that in mind they have to go Mitchell Trubisky here. The one time pro-bowler has shown flashes of being a franchise quarterback, earning four comeback wins and six game winning drives in his three year career. The Bears haven’t given him enough receiving weapons and I think that has hindered him. With Hopkins as his wide receiver one, Trubsiky would have an easier transition and a true throwing it to the best in the business.
13. Arizona Cardinals: Juju Smith Schuster, WR (Picked No. 62)
Original Pick: Hassan Reddick, LB
Reddick has been a good starter but hasn’t been what you wanted with the 13th pick. An aging Carson Palmer, and no other passing options but Larry Fitzgerald, the Cardinals go Juju Smith Schuster. The one time pro-bowler has been a great receiver since he entered the league amassing 917 and 1,426 receiving yards in his first two seasons. He had a down year in 2019 due to bad quarterback play and injuries but he will jump back onto the scene in 2020. The Cardinals would provide Palmer another receiving option and really help an offense who struggled to find a passing rhythm that season.
14. Philadelphia Eagles: TreDavious White, CB (Picked No. 27)
Original Pick: Derek Barnett, Edge
Cornerback was a big need for the Eagles more so than a pass rusher, the Eagles pick Tre’Davious White this time around. The one time pro-bowler and first team all-pro player is a complete cornerback able to track any teams wide receiver one. In his three year career he’s totaled 12 interceptions, 43 passes defended, and 181 total tackles. The Eagles won the Superbowl that season and White would have made them all the more dominant.
15. Indianapolis Colts: Eddie Jackson, SS (Picked No. 112)
Original Pick: Malik Hooker, FS
Hooker has been a good safety but Jackson has just been better. A two time pro-bowler and one time first team all-pro Jackson has been locking down the secondary for the Bears. With 184 total tackles and already five touchdowns to his name on the defensive side of the ball, Jackson has lit up the NFL as one of the best safety’s in the league. Colts needed help on the secondary and Jackson is the perfect fit.
16. Baltimore Ravens: Marlon Humphrey, CB (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Marlon Humphries, CB
No change here. Humprey has been a great addition to a rather under the radar great secondary that also features Earl Thomas, Jimmy Smith and Marcus Peters. Earning his first pro-bowl and first team all-pro nods in 2019, the Ravens are excited that he is on the team and would easily pick him again here.
17. Washington Redskins: Leonard Fournette, RB (Picked No. 4)
Original Pick: Johnathen Allen, DL
Yes the Redskins needed defensive line help, but with Leonard Fournette falling this far in the draft they go with the best available player. Fournette has been a complete package, three down power back. Although slightly hampered by injuries, in two of his three seasons he’s eclipsed over 1,000 rushing yards and over 300 receiving yards. Fournette would help the Redskins offense have a consistent rushing attack.
18. Tennessee Titans: Adoreé Jackson, CB (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Adoreé Jackson, CB
No change here Jackson has been a solid part of the Titans organization since joining. A blazing 4.42 forty time he’s shown that chasining down defenders and in the return game as both a punt and kick returner. He’s positive strides at becoming a consistent corner in Vrabals defense and a guy theu can build around on defense.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OJ Howard, TE (Same Selection)
Original Pick: OJ Howard, Te
No change here. OJ Howard hasn’t been what the Buccaneers have been hoping for yet although he has shown a lot of promise. He is sticking here because he is a solid blocker and they just got Tom Brady this offseason. Brady loves his tight ends and Howard is a freak of an athlete. 2020 is going to be Howards year and the Buccaneers are really happy to have him paired with Brady.
20. Denver Broncos: Ryan Ramcyzk, OT (Picked No. 32)
Original Pick: Garrett Bolles, OT
Bolles has really struggled since entering the NFL, so the Broncos go with Ryan Ramcyzk this time around. Ramcyzk has started 47 of a possible 48 games and in 2019 notched his first, first team all-pro honors in 2019. Ramcyzk is a great right tackle able to protect the quarterback and open up rushing lanes for the running back. Broncos would love to have this pick back.
21. Detroit Lions: Kenny Golladay, WR (Picked No. 96)
Original Pick: Jarrad Davis, LB
Drafted by the Lions in the third round they get their star receiver here in the first. The one time pro-bowl player has eclipsed the 1,000 receiving mark in two of his three seasons and led the NFL in receiving touchdowns with 11 in 2019. While Davis has been a good linebacker for the Lions, Golladay has shown he’s a great receiver and should not have fallen. Their happy he’s on the team.
22. Miami Dolphins: Budda Baker, SS (Picked No. 36)
Original Pick: Charles Harris, Edge
Dolphins needed a linebacker and a cornerback at this point, so the Dolphins go Budda Baker here. Baker is a two time pro-bowler and one time first team all-pro player, who is able to line up in the safety position and inside the box on blitz packages. With over 100 total tackles in two of his three seasons including an incredible 147 in 2019, Baker has proven that he is a sideline to sideline player with a motor that doesn’t quit. Budda would have provided versatility and depth to a rather weak Dolphins secondary at this point.
23. New York Giants: David Njoku, TE (Picked No. 29)
Original Pick: Evan Engram, TE
Sticking with tight end here, the Giants get a traditional tight one this time. David Njoku. I know Giants fans love Engram because of what he has done in the receiving game but he has struggled mightily in the blocking aspect of his game. Njoku has shown an ability to be a receiving threat from his position which is what the Giants wanted in their tight end, but most importantly he can line up on the offensive line and help block the blindside Manning, with their offensive line being so weak he would be a great addition.
24. Oakland Raiders (Now LV Raiders): Shaquill Griffin, CB (Picked No. 90)
Original Pick: Gareon Conley, CB
Conley and the Raiders were not the right fit but they needed help in the secondary and Shaquill Griffin is their guy. 186 total tackles, 36 total passes defended and a pro-bowl to his name, Griffin has developed into a great young cornerback. The Raiders would really benefit from his play and would love to have this pick as after just three seasons Conley is already off the roster.
25. Cleveland Browns: Desmond King, DB (Picked No. 151)
Original Pick: Jabrill Peppers, S
Peppers is an insane athlete but hasn’t found the right system yet, this time around the Browns get a sure-fire cornerback in Desmond King. The one time first team all-pro player has averaged over 50 total tackles per season, doing so on only 20 starts of a possible 48 games (playing in 47 of them). However in his limited starts, King has shown to be a great cover corner. The Browns really needed help in the secondary and having King would have given them a corner to slow down divisional rival Antonio Brown.
26. Atlanta Falcons: Takk McKinley, Edge (Same Selection)
Original Pick: Takk McKinley, Edge
No change here. The Falcons needed a pass rusher after their Superbowl loss and got solid one in McKinley. Averaging 4 sacks a season since he’s entered the league McKinley has been a good addition to the Falcons. Dan Quinn has enjoyed having him on the team and rumor is McKinley is supposed to have a big role with Vic Beasley departing in free agency.
27. Buffalo Bills: Mike Williams, WR (Picked No. 7)
Original Pick: Tre’Davious White, CB
White is taken earlier and the Bills needed a wide receiver for Tyrod Taylor that would feature Kelvin Benjamin and Deonte Thompson as the main options. Bills go Mike Williams here, who posted a 1,000 yard receiving season in 2019 and averaged an incredible 20.1 yards per reception. He’s a great deep threat option that would give Taylor at least one person to throw too and eventually be the deep threat option for Josh Allen who can throw the ball 60 yards down field with ease.
28. Dallas Cowboys: Jonathen Allen, Edge (Picked No. 17)
Original Pick: Taco Charlton, Edge
Cowboys needed help in their defensive front and Charlton was out after just two seasons in Dallas, so the Cowboys go Jonathen Allen this time around. Allen has slowly grown into a solid defensive end, averaging 7 sacks the last two seasons compared to his rookie season where only notched one. Allen would provide depth at the defensive line and could start opposite DeMarcus Lawerence for the Cowboys. They really wish they could have this pick back.
29. Cleveland Browns: Derek Barnett, Edge (Picked No. 14)
Original Pick: David Njoku, TE
Njoku is taken earlier in this draft and after getting their quarterback of the future and a starting corner Cleveland adds a pass rusher in Derek Barnett. Barnett has been a good rusher since he’s entered the league, and the Browns needed help in this position. Barnett has averaged 4 sacks since entering the league and each year his total tackles have increased as his game has improved. Cleveland would be getting a young guy they can develop and fill a need at the position.
30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Evan Engram, TE (Picked No. 23)
Original Pick: TJ Watt, Edge
Watt was taken earlier here so the Steelers go Evan Engram here. They don’t need a tight end but they need a receiver and Engrams 4.42 speed allows him to line up in the slot and out wide like a receiver for the Steeler’s offense allowing them to open the playbook more. In his rookie year being the only receiving option for Eli Manning, Engram accumulated 722 yards on 64 receptions and six touchdowns.
31. San Francisco 49ers: Joe Mixon, RB (Picked No. 48)
Original Pick: Reuban Foster, LB
After getting the best pass rusher in the draft with the third pick, San Francisco goes with Joe Mixon. Mixon has been an excellent running back since entering the league, reaching over 1,100 rushing yards in two of his three seasons in the league. He’s a true ground and pound running back averaging over 230 carries the last two seasons. He would provide the 49ers with a consistent running game in a year when they didn’t have one.
32. New Orleans Saints: Dalvin Cook, RB (Picked No. 41)
Original Pick: Ryan Ramczyk, T
Ramzyk was taken earlier in this draft and so was Kamara, so the Saints go Dalvin Cook. Though injured his first two seasons. Cook eclipsed over 1,100 rushing yards, 500 receiving yards and 13 rushing touchdowns in 2019 showing the kind of elite back he can be when healthy. Having Marc Ingram as the lead back and letting Cook time to develop into a system would limit his chance of injury and provide the Saints with another one of the most lethal backfields in the NFL again.
